Good evening, Bulluck families! This is Dr. Lamb. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Thank you to those of you who have been reading along with us in The Mouse and the Motorcycle! This week, we will read Chapters 9-12, and we will finish the book together on November 25 with Chapter 13. Each morning, we are doing trivia questions for classrooms on the announcements - this has been so much fun! Be sure to check out our school’s Facebook page for videos of school and community members reading each chapter. This week will feature our deputy superintendent, Dr. Michael Myrick, our assistant principal, Cindy Lamm, Rocky Mount’s assistant fire chief, Mike Roupp, and ECPS’ coordinator of communications and community relations, Susan Hoke. Second and fourth grade students will be going on a field trip on Friday! Please make sure you have completed a permission slip for your child. Reach out to your child’s teacher if you need an extra copy. Please remember to turn in notes for each student absence. This can be a note from a doctor or dentist or a handwritten or typed note from a family member. It is very important that absences are marked excused in our student information system. Please turn these notes into your child’s teacher or the front office. One final reminder that we will have no school for students and staff on Wednesday, November 27 - Friday, November 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. Thank you for your support this school year! Have a great night!

Good evening, Bulluck families! This is Dr. Lamb. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Tomorrow, 3rd-5th grade students will participate in their math check-in. This is an opportunity for students to show what they have learned thus far this year. Be sure your child arrives to school on time and has a nutritious breakfast. Breakfast will be served free to all students at Bulluck, as always. Just a reminder that Tuesday, November 5 is a teacher workday for G.W. Bulluck due to our designation as a polling site. There will be no school for students on Tuesday. We are SO excited to remind you that G.W. Bulluck will participate in the One School, One Book program starting tomorrow. ALL students, staff, families, and many community members will receive a copy of the same chapter book to read aloud together. Your students will find out which book was selected at an assembly tomorrow. We will send home the book, as well as a family reading schedule that day. You will read one chapter a night as a family for 13 school days, excluding weekends. Generally, this will be about 15 minutes of reading each night. We would love for you to read aloud together as a family, but if you prefer to listen, we will post a video of each chapter recorded by a school or community member on Bulluck’s Facebook page each day. Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day, and there will be no school for staff or students. Thank you for your support this school year! Have a great night!
