The NC School Performance Grades and Growth metrics were released this week, and we are thrilled to announce that several Edgecombe County Public Schools exceeded or met growth expectations for the 2023-24 school year!
A special shoutout to Edgecombe Early College High School and J.W. Parker Middle School for being in the top 5% in the state for growth, and to Martin Millennium Academy for being in the top 10% for growth!

This afternoon, we were honored by a special visit from Mr. Eddie Pettaway, who brought his annual delivery of beautiful mums to brighten our central office and schools.
Mr. Pettaway, a cherished former custodian who dedicated many years to serving our schools, continues to show his love and commitment to our community through this thoughtful gesture. His ongoing kindness not only enhances our work environment but also serves as a powerful reminder of the positive impact one person can make.

🚨 TRAINING ALERT 🚨
Safety Drill Notice
Tomorrow morning starting at 8:00 a.m., local law enforcement, EMS, and fire units will be conducting a safety drill at Coker-Wimberly Elementary School and North Edgecombe High School in Leggett.
During this training, emergency units will respond from Coker-Wimberly to North Edgecombe. Expect to see a large presence of emergency vehicles in the area from multiple agencies.
Please be aware, this is a simulated school shooting drill. You may hear gunshots near the schools, but rest assured, this is only a training exercise. There is no danger to students or the public.

Due to the expected impact of Tropical Storm Debby, we have important updates regarding our schedules and activities:
Remote Learning Days:
Thursday & Friday: Edgecombe Early College High School & Edge Academy of Health Sciences will shift to remote learning.
Summer Bridge Week:
All activities at our traditional high schools are canceled for Thursday.
Staff Workdays:
Thursday & Friday: ECPS staff will have remote workdays.
Athletics:
All practices and events are canceled for Thursday & Friday.
Please stay safe, stay informed, and take all necessary precautions during this time. We will continue to provide updates as needed.
